Sharking And You.

After watching Sharkwater I asked myself and now you...

Why do we trade with Asia? They are literally fishing the oceans clean.

Destroying natures balance and also destroying jobs here and in Europe.

When my Prime Minister sez "Protectionism doesn't work..."

I say "it worked fine for over 200 years Bub, why not now"?

These scavengers of the world should be shook free and fast!

Here's an interveiw with Toronto's own Rob Stewart, the director of "Sharkwater".

Watch "Sharkwater" and you decide.

Know Your Iraqi Factions.

MAIN IRAQI FACTIONS

SHIITES
They are the majority of Iraq's 28 million people. Shiites were brutally repressed by Saddam Hussein, but took back political power with a coalition of parties in parliament. Some factions have been linked with armed militias.
Dawa Party: Split between two factions, it's the oldest organized Shiite Islamist party. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki controls one faction and led in the recent provincial poll.
Sadr Trend: Headed by popular young anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, who may return as a coalition partner of Dawa after recent election. Sadr's militia, the Mahdi Army, has now fractured, and he is focusing on political rather than military gains.
Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council: Headed by Shiite cleric Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim and close to the Badr Brigade militia, now part of Iraq's national security forces. Ally of Dawa, but more pro-Iranian, and losing popular support.
Iraqi National Congress: Faction headed by Ahmed Chalabi, a rotating president of Iraq Governing Council, and once mooted by Washington to replace Saddam. Faction has switched alliances since the invasion and has little broad popular support.

SUNNIS

They are a significant minority in Iraq. Dominant in Saddam's Iraq, Sunnis suffered attacks and displacement after his overthrow, and some joined violent rebellions. They hold more than 50 seats in the 275-member Iraqi parliament.
Iraqi Accord Front: Fractious coalition of three parties led by deputy president Tariq al-Hashimi and including his large Iraqi Islamic Party. It is opposed to U.S. troops remaining in Iraq and to the country's draft oil law, which it says favours foreign companies.
Iraqi Front for National Dialogue: Bloc headed by former Baathist Saleh al-Mutlak, with power base in Saddam's home province of Salah ad-Din province. Views similar to Iraqi Accord Front.

Awakening Councils: a movement of tribal groups formed to fight al Qaeda militants, they are now working to form a political base, hampered by internal power struggles.

KURDS
Once brutalized by Saddam, Iraq's third main minority is largely Sunni and inhabits the most peaceful and prosperous part of Iraq, an autonomous territory in the north.
Kurdistan Alliance: Formerly warring factions, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan jointly run the Kurdistan Regional Government. PUK leader Jalal Talabani is Iraq's president. Both parties want more control over Iraq's oil, and are influential in determining Iraq's contentious draft oil law. The Alliance includes several smaller parties.

SECULAR
Iraqi National Accord: Leads a small secular bloc headed by Ayad Allawi, a Shiite but former Saddam ally, then leader of an exiled student opposition. Was former prime minister; now boycotts the cabinet.

Can we stop the increasing militarization of our communities through a movement to de-fund the police?

From Adbusters.org
Blackspot da Police.

Byron Hammick, Kendra James, James Jahar Perez, James Philip Chasse, Amadou Bailo Diallo, Julian Alexander, Bobby Tolan, Oscar Grant and Alexandros Grigoropoulos. These are the names of innocent, unarmed individuals executed without a trial by police officers (source). Of course, the list is not exhaustive and shootings seem to be occurring with greater frequency as police departments become increasingly militarized. There is even talk of developing softer handcuffs that can be used on children as young as five years old (source). The death of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in Athens sparked riots as did the videotaped execution of Oscar Grant in Oakland, CA. But while riots may relieve the anger of the moment, they also function to justify increasing police budgets. What if we took a different tactic and blackspotted the police by building a movement to de-fund the police and replace them with community safety patrols.
Let’s take the example of Oakland, California where Oscar Grant was lying on his stomach, restrained by police officers and then shot and killed. The whole incident was caught on tape (see video below) so there is little dispute as to the facts of the case. Oakland currently spends around $194 million on police services and their total budget is a little under $950 million (source). That is about four times as much as is spent on Libraries, Parks and Museums combined. The police budget is an amazing 20% of the entire Oakland budget! In these times of economic depression, de-funding the police would directly translate into an increase of funding for the types of community quality of life improvements that decrease crime.
While we de-fund the police and pour that money into community improvement projects, we can also work to make the police unnecessary by replacing them with a Blackspot Police. Obviously a Blackspot Police would share very little in common with the State’s police but would instead work to supercede the police by becoming the community’s first responders. This would be something akin to the Guardian Angels who patrol “dusk until dawn, without weapons, […] to ensure that citizens can enjoy their communities without fearing for their safety” (source). The objective would be to demonstrate that the police are overfunded and their presence is antagonistic and violent.
While you think about how to Blackspot the police, please watch the following video of Oscar Grant’s murder.

It's time to take control of our society, don'tcha think?

What Is Da Central Bank? : "Wally-Nomics 103"

A central bank is an institution that produces the currency of an entire nation. Based on historical precedent, two specific powers are inherent in central banking practice: the control of interest rates and the control of the money supply, or inflation. The central bank does not simply supply a government's economy with money, it loans it to them at interest. Then through the use of increasing and decreasing of supply of money the central bank regulates the value of the currency being issued. It is critical to understand that the entire structure of this system can only produce one thing in the long run: DEBT.
It doesn't take a lot of ingenuity to figure their scam now. For, every single dollar produced by the central bank is loaned at interest. That means every single dollar produced is actually the dollar plus a certain percent of debt based on that dollar. And since the central bank has the monopoly of the production of the currency for the entire country and they loan each dollar out with an immediate debt attached to it, where does the money that pay for the debt come from? It can only come from the central bank again. Which means the central bank has to perpetually increase its money supply to temporarily cover the outstanding debt created which in turn, since that new money is loaned out at interest as well creates even more debt? The end result of this system without fail is slavery for it is impossible for the government, and thus the public, to ever come out of the self-generating debt. The founding fathers of this country were well aware of this.
“I believe that banking institution are more dangerous than standing armies… If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of currency… the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of their property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered”-Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

“If you want to remain slaves of the bankers and pay for the costs of your own slavery, let them continue to create money and control the nation’s credit”-Sir Josiah Stamp (1880-1941)

By the early 20th century the US have already implemented and removed a few central banking systems, which were swindled into place by the ruthless banking interests. At this time, the dominate families in the banking and business world were: J.D. Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, Paul Warburg, Baron Rothschild. And in they early 1900's they sought to push once again legislation to create another central bank. However, they knew the Government and public were very wary of such an institution. So they needed to create an incident to affect the public opinion. So J.P.Morgan, publicly considered a financial luminary at the time, exploited his mass influence by publishing rumours about a prominent bank in New York wasn't solvent or bankrupt. Morgan new this would cause mass hysteria which would affect other banks as well. And it did. The public in fear of losing their deposits immediately began mass withdrawals. Consequently, the banks were forced to call in their loans causing their recipients to sell their property and thus the spiral of bankruptcies, repossessions and turmoil emerged. Putting the pieces together a few years later... Fredrik Allen of Life Magazine wrote:

“The Morgan interests took advantage… to participate the panic [of 1907] guiding it shrewdly as it progressed” –Frederik Allen, Life Magazine

"Panic is the theme in banking. Start a panic and get the masses to lose confidence in their own companies, the shareholders lose their life savings, then the bank swoops in, destroys, sells off to the same group of individuals... Start again...etc..." Wallycrawler 2009

Borrowed From The Zeitgeist Movement.
"You know, it's a mystery as to why people think Roosevelt's policies pulled us out of the Depression. The problem was that you had unemployed machines and unemployed people. How do you get them together by forming industrial cartels and keeping prices and wages up?":
Milton Friedman 2006

Da Religion Of Money. "Wally-Nomics 102".

William Grieder, former assistant managing editor of the Washington Post, wrote a book in 1987 entitled, "Secrets of the Temple: How the Federal Reserve Runs the Country" that details how the Controllers have conditioned us to accept this absurd situation.
"To modern minds," he writes, "it seemed bizarre to think of the Federal Reserve as a religious institution. Yet the conspiracy theorists, in their own demented way, were on to something real and significant.
The Fed did also function in the realm of religion. Its mysterious powers of money creation, inherited from priestly forebears, shielded a complex bundle of social and psychological meanings. With its own form of secret incantation, the Federal Reserve presided over awesome social ritual, transactions so powerful and frightening they seemed to lie beyond common understanding.
" Mr. Grieder continues, "Above all, money was a function of faith. It required implicit and universal social consent that was indeed mysterious. To create money and use it, each one must believe, and everyone must believe. Only then did worthless pieces of paper take on value.
" Do you get it? MONEY is an ILLUSION! Why? Because the gold standard upon which our money is supposed to be based has been eliminated. There's no more gold in Fort Knox. It's all GONE!
Now, money really IS only paper!!!
In the past, money was supposed to represent something of tangible value. Now it's simply paper! Taken one step further, many of us don't even use paper money any more! Why? Well, here's a scenario.
Many places of employment directly deposit their employee's paychecks into the bank. Once the money is there, when bill time comes around, the person in question can write out a stack of checks to pay them. Plus, when they need gasoline they use a credit card; and groceries a debit card. If this person goes out for dinner on Friday night, they can charge the tab on their diner's card. But what about the tip? They simply scribble in the amount at the bottom of the check. So far, the person hasn't spent a single dollar bill. Plus, if you bring electronic banking into the picture, we've virtually eliminated the use for money. And, God forbid, what happens when encoded microchips are implanted into the backs of our hand? In essence, money has become nothing more than an illusion - an electronic figure or amount on a computer screen. That's it! As time goes on, we have an increasing tendency toward being sucked into this Wizard of Oz vortex of unreality. Think about it.
Americans as a whole are carrying more personal debt than in any other time in history.
Plus, our government keeps going further and further into the hole, with no hope of ever crawling out. But we have less and less actual MONEY!
We're being enslaved by the debt of electronic blips on a computer screen! And 70% of the banks that control this debt via the Federal Reserve exist in foreign countries!
What in God's name is going on?
As author William Bramley says, "The result of this whole system is MASSIVE debt at every level of society." We're getting screwed in a sickening way, folks, and the people doing it are demented magician-priests that use the ILLUSION of money as their control device. And I hate to say it, but if we allow things to keep going as they are, the situation will only get worse.
